Shame for IEEE, Springer Verlag, ACM, AIP, WorldScientific, Taylor and Francis, Elsevier

For more than 8 years our blog has identified that IEEE, Springer Verlag, ACM, AIP (American Institute of Physics), WorldScientific (Singapore), Taylor and Francis, Elsevier conferences are fake, bogus, scam, sham, mock and predatory. Now we have additional Proofs:

or google: IEEE 120 SCIgen Papers

The IEEE SCIgen Papers were 85 two years ago:
Several Blogs (included reported this. In 2014, these SCIgen papers in IEEE were 120.

Let''s start with the IEEE SCIGen Fake Papers of 2009. What's happened in 2009:
In 2009, we had received the following email from a girl that was working in IARIA's secretariat.

IEEE Computer Society Press sent it in January 17 (2009) to all the IEEE Sponsored, Co-Sponsored Conferences as well as to conferences
that publish their Proceedings with IEEE CS Press. It is impressive how many IEEE conferences are based on a review on the Abstract!.

TO: CPS Clients FROM: Evan Butterfield, Director of Products and Services RE: Fraudulent Machine-Generated Paper Submissions (CONFIDENTIAL) DATE: 16 January 2009

The IEEE Computer Society (CS) has evidence that multiple (IEEE) conferences are receiving machine-generated papers. In two cases, conferences have actually accepted an obviously fraudulent submission. This is a serious issue that threatens the credibility of your conference, the quality of the digital library, and the reputation of both the IEEE and CS. It requires your immediate attention. Please take this opportunity to ensure that your peer review processes are being followed, and adapt to any new requirements that may be communicated by the IEEE or the Computer Society. No conference published by CPS should rely on an abstract review. It is very important that you review carefully the full text of all papers submitted to your conference. If you have already accepted papers, your program committee should review the full text again. While CPS staff will be conducting random spot-checks of conference papers in the publishing queue, we are relying on you to authenticate the content of your proceedings. Any papers that were not actually presented at your conference need to be brought to our attention, and should receive close review. In known cases, the machine-generated origin is obvious from a reading of the first few paragraphs of the paper; the abstracts are human-generated and do not indicate the quality of the paper itself. In the past, papers have been submitted by “Herbert Schlangemann,” but be mindful that the perpetrator of this fraud will change the approach over time. In the event you discover any evidence of questionable content or behavior, please communicate that to us immediately along with an action plan for addressing the problem. Thank you for your help in maintaining the quality of our products.

Each paper in the Proceedings of IEEE/IFIP EUC 2010, will be published from a file uploaded by the author to our site used earlier for the submission of the abstract.

All manuscripts have to be received electronically in .pdf format and must be compatible with IEEE Xplore. Please note that the organizer will check that for every paper at least one author has registered before the paper is included in the conference proceedings CD-ROM; furthermore, failing to present the paper at the conference (no-show) will prevent from the inclusion of the paper in the volume transferred to the IEEE Xplore digital library.

The 8th IEEE/IFIP International Conference on Embedded and Ubiquitous
Computing (EUC-10), provides actually a new forum for engineers and scientists in
academia, industry, and government to address all challenges including
technical, safety, social, and legal issues related to embedded and
ubiquitous computing and to present and discuss their ideas, results,
work in progress and experience on all aspects of embedded and
ubiquitous computing.

Your papers was reviewed by the international Program Committee.
Accepted papers will be published in the EUC-10 proceedings by IEEE
Computer Society. Selected high quality papers will be recommended for
publication in special issues of Journal of Embedded Computing (JEC),
International Journal of Embedded Systems (IJES), International Journal
of Parallel, Emergent and Distributed Systems and several SCI-indexed
journals. A best paper will be selected for each of the two themes
(embedded computing and ubiquitous computing).

  2. NEW YORK—An intense letter writing protest campaign is being directed at the The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers IEEE a worldwide professional organization incorporated in New York State, with offices in Washington DC and around the world. IEEE is cooperating with the so-called “Eastern Mediterranean University” a pseudo-entity built on the land stolen from Greek-Cypriots by the brutal Turkish-military invasion in 1974.

The protest initiated by CANA (Cyprus Action Network of America) together with the Movement for FREEDOM and Justice and Cyprus, and the Greek-Cypriot refugee association ADOULOTI KERINIA has been supported by activists writing in from as far away as Australia, Greece and all over the United States.

The letter writing campaign came after Greek-Cypriot Professor George A. Kyriacou of Democritus University of Thrace Democritus University , Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in Greece sent us an email of his rejection of the IEEE cooperation in the so-called “Eastern Mediterranean University” (see Professor Kyriacou’s letter to the IEEE and event organizers below)

Today, the Cypriot Television station SIGMA carried the story of the letter writing protest campaign, which is now being covered by practically every major media outlet in our Cyprus homeland

Please join our campaign and urge every organization which you may be affiliated with to write in their own protest letter to the IEEE. The President of the IEEE has replied to us today, acknowledging receipt of our protest letter. However, this is not enough, CANA urges all patriots to keep writing and to further the campaign by emailing the other IEEE contacts responsible for the cooperation, including again the IEEE president. We urge all participants to not stop until IEEE stops all cooperation with the so-called “Eastern Mediterranean University” which is on land and buildings stolen from Greek-Cypriots forcibly displaced by the illegal Turkish military-invasion in 1974.

  3. So, I am happy that you reveal the fake IEEE conferences and the illegal IEEE activities

  4. The HONG KONG News - Hong Kong Visitors Information.
has also confirmed that the IEEE accepted a bogus (fake) paper with text copied from Wikipedia

  5. Bogus Conference from WASET. The Zenith of Failure

WASET is the same scam scheme that used in the past the names
    * World Academy of Computers
    * World Academy of Informatics
    * ENFORMATIKA (for second time)
    and now...

They changed names because each time several SCIgen papers appeared in their Proceedings and they were enforced to change name.

However, there recent multiconferences were absolutely zero.
Not only the quality of the papers that are always very low, but also the quantity

    As one can see from

In their recent 3 multiconferences, they gathered 7-8 papers.

I wonder, why to go to their Conference for example in Roma or in Amsterdam to see except than me 5-6 other delegates

The Law of Junk conferences punished them
as it had punished the Conferences of Milutinovic (The so-called IPSI Junk conferences)

To understand the quality of the ridiculus IPSI bogus conferences, we mention that their conferences were held in the house of
"Professor" Milutinovic who used to sent their "Call For Papers" declaring that he is "IEEE Fellow"

"Enjoy" these junk multiconferences (or academic crimes) in:

  6. Can I copy this to our blog ?

  7. They accept ANYTHING you send them!! Want proof, try to send them some scigen paper and wait and watch! Funny!!

No Retreat, No Surrender, IEEE Must STOP Cosponsoring Illegal Turkish Occupiers
For Immediate Release: June 24, 2010

Contact: Nikolaos Taneris , New York , Tel. (917) 699-9935

In the past two weeks the power of our ordinary people, our grassroots has managed to convince the EuMA (European Microwave Association) to withdraw from the illegal Turkish occupiers’ “symposium” on Turkish microwaves in the lands and buildings stolen from our Greek-Cypriot people by the ongoing Turkish military invasion of 1974. Throughout our long history when corrupt foreign interests and brutal bullies took from us so much, it was the power of our ordinary people, our grassroots that rebuilt and kept reminding the world that our land our culture our people remain under Turkish occupation. Various agents continue to attempt to give the Turkish occupiers a false ‘legitimacy’ with the use of outright lies and false historical revisionism. We saw this with Annan and we’ve seen it accelerate. The Turkish Microwaves “symposium” managed to get the co-sponsorship of the worldwide professional organization IEEE and we learned through the honorable honesty of EuMA’s President Dr. Heinrich Wolfgang that the Illegal Turkish occupiers and their allies used lies and deceit negating Turkey’s crimes and ongoing Turkish military occupation and hiding the undeniable fact that the bandit pseudo-state is unrecognized and illegal. The battle for the future of our Greek-Cypriot people is, as we see it, won first in the hearts of all Hellenes in Cyprus and around the world, and then being able to translate it into meaningful grassroots activism to remind the world of the truth.

We are releasing some of the grassroots letters and supporter letters we were copied on and were sent in to Dr. Nicholas “Nick” Kolias of IEEE, the man in America responsible for the Turkish Microwaves “symposium” in lands and buildings stolen from Greek-Cypriots by illegal Turkish military-invasion in 1974. The letters came in from across America and CANADA , and we include the letter from the President of the Movement for FREEDOM & JUSTICE IN CYPRUS, and the recent press release from the UK-based Cypriot Student Movement Metopo.
An accomplished Greek-American leader and scientist has also joined the letter writing campaign urging IEEE to cancel their co sponsorship, we soon may be releasing this along with an extension of our pressure and protest campaign against IEEE and the illegal Turkish Occupiers. Our power to bring attention to our cause and shine the light of truth is in the hearts of each and every one of our Hellenic people who care for Cyprus . Our message now is continue to write, fax and call Dr. Nicholas “Nick” Kolias. No Retreat, No Surrender, IEEE Must STOP Cosponsoring Illegal Turkish Occupiers. Dear Dr N. Kolias

Kindly see to it that the Subject Conference is Rescheduled to another legal IEEE
as it reflects very badly on the ethics of the IEEE Group to hold/sponsor the Subject conference in the occupied by Turkish military region of Cyprus.

Should any IEEE member get hurt in this IEEE meeting IEEE will also bear responsibility.

Please reconsider the existing situation and reschedule.

    Subject: IEEE Conference.

    Dear Dr. Kolias:

It has come to my attention that you might be involved with an IEEE conference that will be held on the island of Cyprus in the area that is under military occupation by Turkish troops. I don't know how the IEEE fell into such a trap but you have an obligation to warn your members and attendees that the occupied area is under control of the Turkish military. There is no law, there are no embassies, there is nothing but Turkish soldiers armed with M-16's and they are the law. You are placing yourself and your colleagues who may plan to attend the conference, under a tremendous and serious danger. Your safety and security is not guaranteed by anyone, your American passport is useless and you will be jeopardizing your lives by entering an area where the only 'authority' is a Turkish army of 40,000+ fully armed Turkish soldiers. You have an obligation to the members of the IEEE to inform them of this grave mistake that looks like it is about to be committed.
