Shame for IEEE, Springer Verlag, ACM, AIP, WorldScientific, Taylor and Francis, Elsevier

For more than 8 years our blog has identified that IEEE, Springer Verlag, ACM, AIP (American Institute of Physics), WorldScientific (Singapore), Taylor and Francis, Elsevier conferences are fake, bogus, scam, sham, mock and predatory. Now we have additional Proofs:

Visit: http://www.nature.com/news/publishers-withdraw-more-than-120-gibberish-papers-1.14763

http://retractionwatch.com/2014/02/24/springer-ieee-withdrawing-more-than-120-nonsense-papers/

or google: IEEE 120 SCIgen Papers

The IEEE SCIgen Papers were 85 two years ago:
http://hal.archives-ouvertes.fr/docs/00/71/35/55/PDF/0-FakeDetectionSci-Perso.pdf
Several Blogs (included netdriver.blogpost.com) reported this. In 2014, these SCIgen papers in IEEE were 120.

Let''s start with the IEEE SCIGen Fake Papers of 2009. What's happened in 2009:
In 2009, we had received the following email from a girl that was working in IARIA's secretariat.

IEEE Computer Society Press sent it in January 17 (2009) to all the IEEE Sponsored, Co-Sponsored Conferences as well as to conferences
that publish their Proceedings with IEEE CS Press. It is impressive how many IEEE conferences are based on a review on the Abstract!.

TO: CPS Clients FROM: Evan Butterfield, Director of Products and Services RE: Fraudulent Machine-Generated Paper Submissions (CONFIDENTIAL) DATE: 16 January 2009

The IEEE Computer Society (CS) has evidence that multiple (IEEE) conferences are receiving machine-generated papers. In two cases, conferences have actually accepted an obviously fraudulent submission. This is a serious issue that threatens the credibility of your conference, the quality of the digital library, and the reputation of both the IEEE and CS. It requires your immediate attention. Please take this opportunity to ensure that your peer review processes are being followed, and adapt to any new requirements that may be communicated by the IEEE or the Computer Society. No conference published by CPS should rely on an abstract review. It is very important that you review carefully the full text of all papers submitted to your conference. If you have already accepted papers, your program committee should review the full text again. While CPS staff will be conducting random spot-checks of conference papers in the publishing queue, we are relying on you to authenticate the content of your proceedings. Any papers that were not actually presented at your conference need to be brought to our attention, and should receive close review. In known cases, the machine-generated origin is obvious from a reading of the first few paragraphs of the paper; the abstracts are human-generated and do not indicate the quality of the paper itself. In the past, papers have been submitted by “Herbert Schlangemann,” but be mindful that the perpetrator of this fraud will change the approach over time. In the event you discover any evidence of questionable content or behavior, please communicate that to us immediately along with an action plan for addressing the problem. Thank you for your help in maintaining the quality of our products.

Commercial Advertizement and poppycock from Bogus IADIS conferences

Commercial Advertizement and poppycock from Bogus IADIS conferences follows. IADIS, IAENG, IARIA, IASTED, IMACS, IACSIT, are web sites with numerous bogus conferences. Do not include in your Biography nothing from IADIS, IAENG, IARIA, IASTED, IMACS, IACSIT junk publications. In the SPAM from IADIS we learn "Following your last year participation as member of the Program Committee of Web Based Communities and Social Media". This sentence was sent by email to millions of email addresses. They also write: "As a member of the committee, you will get some papers to review in the topics you select. You are entitled to be part of the proceedings book and CD-ROM." and "Can I just ask you for a couple of names that could also be part of this committee? The idea is to increase the number of members in the committee in order to reduce the committee members' workload". You will find to much poppycock in their spam -see below

Dear Colleague,

We are co-chairing the IADIS Multi Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems (MCCSIS 2013), a conference made of 13 conferences in the broad areas of Computer Science and Information Systems (please see http://www.mccsis.org).
Following your last year participation as member of the Program Committee of Web Based Communities and Social Media, I would like to re-invite you to take part in this year's edition (please see http://www.webcommunities-conf.org/).

If you agree, we would like to ask you to access the reviewer's web site at http://www.conf-system.org/confman_wbc2013/index_reviewer.asp (see your login and password at the bottom of this email) in order to choose your areas of interest/expertise so that we can assign you some papers for review - please choose at least a minimum of 3 areas. Can you do this within the next days?

As a member of the committee, you will get some papers to review in the topics you select (topics list available at http://www.webcommunities-conf.org/call-for-papers). You are entitled to be part of the proceedings book and CD-ROM.

Can I just ask you for a couple of names that could also be part of this committee? The idea is to increase the number of members in the committee in order to reduce the committee members' workload.

Also, can you please send me your address so that we can send you a CD-ROM with the proceedings of the 2013 edition?

Could you please let me know whether you accept this invitation?

Hope to see you again being part of this IADIS conference.

They claim that Fake Journals are these http://fakejournals.blogspot.com

We discovered using google a new blog with fake journals. We do not know what are their criteria for including a publishing house in their list of fake journals. Of course, many fake journals (most of them with "open access") appeared recently.
Any way, they claim that Fake Journals are these http://fakejournals.blogspot.com

Call for Papers for one fake IEEE conference.

Call for Papers for one fake IEEE conference. Why this is a fake conference:

First of all,
SCIRP is a commercial fake company and you can find several eponymous denunciations against SCIRP. For instance:http://www.jjj.de/fake-conf.html
According IEEE itself: IEEE removed 1100 Bogus Conference Proceedings from IEEEXpore (i.e. IEEE data base) (apparently they were fake IEEE conferences): http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/author_form.html
This is written, this is declared in the www.ieee.org web server and not in a dubious blog, not in strange email.

So, it is an additional confession of IEEE. This time this confession does not include 1 or 2 bogus papers, but 1100 bogus conferences! Outrageous!

Among these fake conferences of 2009, 2010, 2011 that IEEEXplore erased are all the SCIRP conferences with the seal of IEEE.

On the other hand, IEEE continues selling its name and its logo to conferences of SCIRP of 2012 whereas IEEE removed the Proceedings ofIEEE/SCIRP conferences from its data base (2011, 2010, 2009), because they contained fake, bogus, academically toxic papers.

These are the new incredible Scandals of IEEE and its grimy collaboration with SCIRP.

Indeed, the Bogus SCIRP company is growing rapidly with the continuous support of IEEE
What is the game and the role of IEEE for this imoral development.
Can IEEE explain?

This is the SPAM from Fake IEEE Conference of SCIRP

1100 Fake IEEE Conferences were removed from IEEExplore for the years 2011 and 2012. Howver, IEEE granted again to the same conference organizers (SCIRP) the IEEE brand name and logo gor 2013

Do not trust IEEE at all (We received this comment today)

As you can see, we have received this comment:
http://netdriver.blogspot.com/2012/03/fake-ieee-med-conferences.html?showComment=1333695514422#c4693150560349871560
We think that our commenter is right and we republish his comment as a post causing possibly new comments and more discussion.
Our anonymous commenter wrote:

Do not trust IEEE at all. They gave again IEEE sponsorship to the absolutely Junk ITAP conference ITAP 2012 http://www.itapconf.org/2012/
I had received an email that IEEE retracted the co-sponsorship from ITAP
and today I received this email:

IEEE -ITAP2012---CALL FOR PAPERS
The 3rd International Conference on Internet Technology and Applications

The 3rd International Conference on Internet Technology and Applications (iTAP 2012) will be held from August 18~20, 2012 in Wuhan, China. The ITAP 2012 conference proceedings will be submitted to Ei Compendex databases for indexing.

The ITAP conference proceedings (2010, 2011) had all been indexed by Ei Compendex.

The topics include, but not limited to the followings:
....

Conclusion: IEEE fake conferences will continue their tradition for accepting bogus papers, etc....
Recently IEEE removed from its IEEExplore On-line E-library the (past) proceedings from 1100 fake conferences. Now IEEE continues collaborations with the organizers of these IEEE junk conferences. The IEEE junk conferences of Yanxiang He were removed from IEEExplore, but in 2012, IEEE sold its brand name again to Yanxiang He for running the fake IEEE conference: ITAP 2012. A little Google search Fake IEEE conferences of Yanxiang He will convince you.

Fake IEEE MED conferences

We received the following report for one more site that offers Fake (Bogus/Junk) IEEE Conferences. The report for these fake conferences appeared today in:
http://netdriver.blogspot.com/2011/11/new-frauds-from-ieee-at-india-fake-ieee.html
and is as follows

Fake IEEE MED conferences:
These conferences are organized by the "Mediterranean Control Association"
However, this "Association" is a Company based in USA by a Greek Professor.
We sent them two papers describing the equipment of our laboratory.
We copied the manual of Inverted Pendulum and we got the acceptance letter after
some days. So, for sure include in your fake conferences list the
Fake IEEE MED conferences

Unfortunately, our commentor was right.
We checked it and we found that this "Mediterranean Control Association" is a company registered in United States of America
Check it yourself: http://nd.edu/~pantsakl/MCA/
and not in Mediterranean as they claim.
After sending emails to several previous participants, we got a reply:

I have sent them papers twice. They had been accepted without any modification and without any review comments. Our registration fees were sent to the company MCA in USA and not to any non-profit club in some Mediterranean Country. At that time, we did not wonder why. The conference services were poor in both times and most of the sessions were empty or completely cancelled.

However, the beaches and the swimming pools were full of "IEEE MED" delegates.

Maybe, controlists are inspired in their pioneer ideas in the sea or in the swimming pool, especially if they are any (semi-)naked women around.

We have also noticed that they called their conferences as "IEEE Conferences" in the previous years, while they were only technically co-sponsored by IEEE.

This year, 2012, they follow lower profile. So, they do not call their Conference "20th IEEE Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation"
but only
"20th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation".

We have heard that they had serious problems with IEEE Head Quarters, most probably because their conferences had published several junk papers.

The site of the FAKE (Bogus) MEDITERRANEAN CONTROL ASSOCIATION is here
Interesting! isn't it?

FAKE CONFERENCES OF SIAM

We received this by email. It seems to be correct

FAKE CONFERENCES OF SIAM

All the SIAM Conferences are FAKE

All of them are based on "reviews" (if any) on ... Abstracts
SIAM Conferences are absolutely Junk and Bogus. Check them, yourself. We sent them SCIgen Abstracts and they accepted along with
information of how to pay the registration fees. This is important for SIAM Conferences: MONEY
SIAM is the worst Academic Criminal Company and I wonder why the blogs have not discovered them so far.
