Shame for IEEE, Springer Verlag, ACM, AIP, WorldScientific, Taylor and Francis, Elsevier

For more than 8 years our blog has identified that IEEE, Springer Verlag, ACM, AIP (American Institute of Physics), WorldScientific (Singapore), Taylor and Francis, Elsevier conferences are fake, bogus, scam, sham, mock and predatory. Now we have additional Proofs:

or google: IEEE 120 SCIgen Papers

The IEEE SCIgen Papers were 85 two years ago:

Several Blogs (included netdriver.blogpost.com) reported this. In 2014, these SCIgen papers in IEEE were 120.

Let''s start with the IEEE SCIGen Fake Papers of 2009. What's happened in 2009:
In 2009, we had received the following email from a girl that was working in IARIA's secretariat.

IEEE Computer Society Press sent it in January 17 (2009) to all the IEEE Sponsored, Co-Sponsored Conferences as well as to conferences
that publish their Proceedings with IEEE CS Press. It is impressive how many IEEE conferences are based on a review on the Abstract!.

TO: CPS Clients FROM: Evan Butterfield, Director of Products and Services RE: Fraudulent Machine-Generated Paper Submissions (CONFIDENTIAL) DATE: 16 January 2009

The IEEE Computer Society (CS) has evidence that multiple (IEEE) conferences are receiving machine-generated papers. In two cases, conferences have actually accepted an obviously fraudulent submission. This is a serious issue that threatens the credibility of your conference, the quality of the digital library, and the reputation of both the IEEE and CS. It requires your immediate attention. Please take this opportunity to ensure that your peer review processes are being followed, and adapt to any new requirements that may be communicated by the IEEE or the Computer Society. No conference published by CPS should rely on an abstract review. It is very important that you review carefully the full text of all papers submitted to your conference. If you have already accepted papers, your program committee should review the full text again. While CPS staff will be conducting random spot-checks of conference papers in the publishing queue, we are relying on you to authenticate the content of your proceedings. Any papers that were not actually presented at your conference need to be brought to our attention, and should receive close review. In known cases, the machine-generated origin is obvious from a reading of the first few paragraphs of the paper; the abstracts are human-generated and do not indicate the quality of the paper itself. In the past, papers have been submitted by “Herbert Schlangemann,” but be mindful that the perpetrator of this fraud will change the approach over time. In the event you discover any evidence of questionable content or behavior, please communicate that to us immediately along with an action plan for addressing the problem. Thank you for your help in maintaining the quality of our products.

FAKE CONFERENCES OF SIAM

We received this by email. It seems to be correct

FAKE CONFERENCES OF SIAM

All the SIAM Conferences are FAKE

All of them are based on "reviews" (if any) on ... Abstracts
SIAM Conferences are absolutely Junk and Bogus. Check them, yourself. We sent them SCIgen Abstracts and they accepted along with
information of how to pay the registration fees. This is important for SIAM Conferences: MONEY
SIAM is the worst Academic Criminal Company and I wonder why the blogs have not discovered them so far.

  1. Yes, I agree all SIAM Conferences are total garbage

  2. SIAM Conferences are reaaly fake, because they are based on Review on the abstract. They accept SCIgen several papers every month. SIAM is the main source of fake conferences. Test them, folks, with some SCIgen papers.

I agree. So, if you go to the FAKE SIAM Conference page http://www.siam.org/meetings/calendar.php
they have the exhortation "Register Now" in 3 of their many bogus conferences.
Visit http://www.siam.org/meetings/calendar.php and admire the exhortation "Register Now" in 3 junk conferences of SIAM. Also check one by one the SIAM fake conferences http://www.siam.org/meetings/calendar.php
They accept papers with review only on the Abstract. So, I have heard numerous stories of acceptance SCIgen papers in SIAM meetings. Because these SIAM conferences do not send SPAM (as IEEE), the bloggers have just now discovered the SIAM fraud of SIAM crappy conferences!

  4. SIAM and IEEE work in the same way. They sell their (bad) name to dubious conference organizers for some royalties. To accept papers based on a quick review in their abstracts is unacceptable, unethical and quite risky. This is the reason that IEEE and SIAM conferences have accepted so many SCIgen fake papers. So, the book of Abstracts especially of many SIAM conferences is a real festival of fake papers that can be classfied as follows

    a) fake papers (like SCIgen or like the paper: "mathematical psychology of insects" that published in SIAM last year) that are submitted intentionally

    b) wrong papers from suckers that believed that they discovered a new theory of relativity or they believe that they will correct Einstein's theorems or will resolve the last theorem of Fermat. These are not SCIgen papers, but are papers of suckers. They pay 300-500 USD and then
they cock in their family or in their neighborhood that they have proved the ... Fermat's last theorem.

    c) some ideas of some people in their Abstract without any implementation of the main part of their paper. For example: "plantations on the moon or on the Mars", or "on a new medicament for the cancer therapy" and many other "good things" in the Abstract (sounds good) but without any real implementation in the real part of the articles.

  5. SIAM conferences are really unacceptable. I was in one of them in 2008. They did not give us Conference Bags but plastic bags from Super Market. They distributed "Book of Abstracts" in plain photocopies. They promised further invitation in some Book. I contacted them after the conference again and again without any answer. I am glad that your blog revealed the dark role of SIAM. In my laboratory we believe that the SIAM conferences are unacceptable, ridiculous, comic-tragic and outrageously fake!

    Maybe you know it already.
If you have not learnt it, see how fake and bogus are the IEEE conferences

  8. Dear Colleagues,

3 days ago a guy from IEEE invited me to participate in their (fake?) IEEE conference.
    I sent them this email

"Apologies, I am on holidays in that period."

and I was astonished getting from these IEEE organizers this answer by email

"Never mind, IEEE MED 2012 conference is the best summer holidays for you and your family"

I did understand that this IEEE conference is bogus event, but "very serious meetings" for finding ....babes in the beaches and swimming pools!

  9. SIAM conferences are really very fake. Neither peer review nor brief review is given by SIAM. SIAM journals are of very high quality, but SIAM conferences are bogus
